Not having a pool

Could pave the pathway to the pool a bit better so not to always track dirt to and from the house . The lounge chair area is tight - hard to navigate multiple people finding a seat as there isn’t space to walk around the chairs . For our group that was a bit elderly it wasn’t convenient

"My family and I spent one night at Himma's Luxury guest house. The property was supper clean, staff was very polite and answer to any concerns or questions we had.I highly recommend this place. This place will be my go to whenever I'm here in Freetown, Sierra Leone."

I don't like the fact that there's is no TV in any of the rooms we rented.

"Roomy villa. Cleaners came in twice a week which was an unexpected bonus. Pool is lovely. Villa in quiet neighbourhood."

Kitchen wasn’t particularly well equipped. No chopping board. Not enough cutlery

Une vue panoramique à 180 degrés !!! L’emplacement géographique dans le quartier de l’hermitage : accès direct au lagon et proximité à pied de Saint-Gilles ."

"The villa is huge! We loved the location because it was very serene and tranquil. No pretentious resort and loud music! We managed perfectly without the car. We walked a lot and met few local people in the village. People around are very friendly and chilled. The views are beautiful, beds comfortable, pool is a nice size. It was far too big for the two of us but we enjoyed the space thoroughly. We even walked to the Mount gay distillery… fairly long walk but again nice to see the area around. Two old men in the car stopped and asked if we wanted a lift, we thought that was very sweet. We walked few times to Speightstown for food and shopping. I wouldn’t bother with the restaurant Local and Co… very small portions and nothing special. Feels pretentious."

The private chef for us felt a bit too much. It’s nice to be cooked for but the idea of a villa to me is that we are alone and not that we have chef and cleaning lady there during the day. Plus the chef talks too much :) Some days we just cancelled the chef and made our own eggs for breakfast and went to eat in the local restaurant the fish pot which was pricey but very good and walkable. The best mahi mahi fish tacos I have ever had! I think the private chef is probably more viable when you have a larger party.

"Had an Great stay at Casa Karibu. The house was clean and had amazing views. Daily house cleaning staff was a pleasure to be around. Planning activities was a breeze and Laurie was always a text away to assist."

"We were group of friends with families, so we were very excited about place, surrounding, distance to the sea - everything was great! Kids had a lot of acticities, even to collect shells or pine cones. Every room had separate bathrooms, kitchen equipment, tools for barbeque (we need to brought only charcol for cooking)."

It small thing, that do not efect my valuation - sofa was a bit to hard for adults, would be great to have additional mattress :)

"Da localização e natureza em redor. Da vista sobre o oceano. Da privacidade e do silêncio. Da boa construção da casa e do seu conforto, com divisões muito amplas e arejadas (incluindo uma varanda super-agradável)"

Para o melhor, mas também para o pior, Port Glaud é um dos locais mais remotos da ilha de Mahé. Há que fazer um trajecto de mais de 30 minutos por uma estrada sinuosa que sobe e desce a montanha a partir de Victória. O acesso ao mar é fácil, mas não há um grande número de praias banháveis em redor, ou que sejam de fácil acesso. As que há têm o acesso condicionado pelos resorts maiores, ou estão, em grande parte, ocupadas pelas espreguiçadeiras destes. A excepção é a praia de Port Launay, maravilhosa e suficientemente ampla e acessível para comportar a presença de todos os outros que não apenas os hóspedes do resort. É reduzida a oferta de restaurantes (o Delplace é excelente) e os dos resorts não estão, por regra, abertos ao público. Da casa, os únicos pontos negativos a registar será a falta de alguns utensilios de cozinha (não essenciais, mas que seria agradável ter, como um espremedor de citrinos, por exemplo, ou uma tesoura que cortasse) e a iluminação, de luzes muito brancas (todas elas, até no quarto), mal posicionadas e mesmo "agressivas" (como no caso da cozinha). Trata-se, no entanto, e pelo que pudemos constatar, de uma constante na ilha. O acesso à internet também é pouco fiável, mas não por qualquer deficiência na infraestrutura da casa.

"Gostei da estadia, a disposição da casa, faltou alguns utensílios de cozinha mas foram cedidos logo que pedidos, a limpeza é feita pelo pessoal mas precisa de um pouco mais de atenção, a chaleira eléctrica por exemplo estava muito suja, a porta de correr nao abria porque o corredor tinha sujidade, pequenos detalhes que podem ser reparados sem muito esforço, no geral estivemos muito bem, o pessoal muito atencioso e amável. Recomendo"

"The view, the house and the sea is unimaginably beautiful. The stairs take you down directly into the sea, and its swimming distance to many of the beaches around. The host is great and it' s easy to communicate. There is wifi, a big plus. Honestly, it's a dream to stay here, it's quiet and calm, relaxing with hammocks and shaded areas, easy to cook together and enjoy."

The road to the house is more of a gravel path most of the time, with a few steep sides.. its really beautiful, also a bit frightening to walk down at first, especially when carrying luggage and bringing kids and so. However, you get really used to it after some trips to the restaurants and small shops. Power outage was rather common mid-day during our stay, maybe it's different during high season. This is just the way it is in this area, and has nothing to do with the house or the host, it's just something to be mindful of. Bring a powerbank 😀

"Läget är fantastiskt och kontakten med ägaren fungerade väldigt bra. Villan fungerar utmärkt för 4 personer med egna badrum och stort kök och vardagsrum. Läget på stranden inbjuder till många härliga bad och strandpromenader."

Huset är lite slitet och skulle må bra av lite renovering och förnyelse. Men allt fungerar och det är välutrustat och städat.

"Good location close to the beach. Easy walk to the harbour area and restaurants and bars. The property was clean and well equipped although could do with some updating. Bedrooms and living area spacious, less so the bathroom - see below."

The bathroom and particularly the shower was small and very basic. The floor in the shower sloped and was a potential hazard; care needed not to lose your balance. Jolly Beach is a beautiful long beach, but when we were there construction work was taking place along side the beach which was noisy and distracting.
