"O Sidney estava a substiuir Ciza e Rose que se tiveram de ausentar por motivos de saúde. Tinha um trabalho difícil mas revelou-se à altura do desafio, sempre bastante cordial, simpático e prestável. Fizemos a subida ao cone vulcânico com ele, o que foi uma agradável experiência."

O Rosy e a sua família receberam-nos de braços abertos e com um cuidado excepcional, para que nos estivessemos confortáveis e não nos faltasse nada. Para além de estarem disponíveis para nos ajudarem em tudo, ainda nos preparam um jantar que foi uma das melhores refeições da nossa viagem de 15 dias por Cabo verde. No dia da subida ao vulcão, prepararam-nos também um pequeno-almoço reforçado e delicioso, que serviram pouco depois das 5 da manhã. É uma casa acolhedora, com um terraço excelente para descansar e aproveitar a vista sobre a caldeira e o vulcão e uma experiência de alojamento fantástica na relação qualidade-preço."

"Rosa is very friendly and helpful and speaks a lot of languages, a very comfortable place, great views and great food. Safe area and great for hikes and walks out. Would benefit from having internet for longer hours of the day. Shower facilities are rudimentary but I think that is common for this area. We didn't mind and had a wonderful time."

"Wonderful, comfortable, and quiet place—perfect for spending one (or more!) nights in Chã das Caldeiras. Rose and Ciza are very welcoming, friendly, helpful, and kind. I regret not staying more than one night; the place is truly magical, and Rose and Ciza makes the experience even better. Thanks again for the hospitality."

"It was such an amazing experience; Rose is super friendly, we hiked with him Poco do Fogo the first time and we absolutely recommend a guide unless you really are an expert on the mountains. We also had dinner and breakfast there, which were both tasty and abundant. He speaks many languages, so probably he will also speak a bit of yours ;) they arranged also the transportation to and from Cha das Caldeiras."

"We liked everything, but it is just to make people aware that the accommodation is basic; you have everything you need but be aware that there is no running hot water (they can kindly provide some though) and no heating, so just be prepared when you go visit that wonderful place."

Great accomodation (price-value, basic rooms with all you need) for discovering the Pico de Fogo and Caldeira. "Portela is a small village in the heart of the caldera. Ciza and Rose have built a house where a few basic but characteristic rooms face an internal place where breakfast and dinner are served. The place is simple but very clean and perfect for a few nights in an unbelievable place. You will get to know how these proud and strong people rebuilt their village after the last eruption (2014) and how they make their life there. Rose will guide you to the top of pico de fogo if you like, or he will organize a tour for you. He can recommend a wine testing close by. The wine is produced in fogo and it’s good!!! Go! You cannot regret!"

"I don't even know where to begin. It's and excellent place with warm, hardworking and good people. Fantastic spot to hike to the volcano. We had one of the best meals here in whole Cabo Verde, Ciza is an amazing cook and traditional dishes she prepared were just delicious. It's simple, yet generous home. Rose is an excellent guide, patiently answered all our questions. We surly will be back. Keep up a good work, you are doing great 😸 Fingers crossed the restaurant will be in place, when we will be back next time!"
